The Old Port of Québec Interpretation Centre, located on the edge of the Louise Basin, takes you back to an era when shipbuilding and the timber trade were at their peak and set the pace of economic and social life in the Old Capital.

Erected under both the French and English regimes in order to safeguard the city, the Fortifications of Québec bear witness to the evolution of Québec's defence system from the 17th to the 19th century.

Since the 17th century, Artillery Park has played an important role in defending Québec. In 1959, the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada recognized the national historic importance of the park and its military installations, which were an integral part of the city's defensive system.

It is along the St-Lawrence that many pages of our history were written; the history of our city; of a French, then English, colony; of a country. The Naval Reserve and the Battle of the St-Lawrence represent significant chapters of this history that links Québec City to her river.

The Aquarium du Québec, founded in 1959, provides visitors with an enriching experience through its 4 main mandates: education, recreation, conservation and research. The Aquarium is home to around 3,200 specimens of some 320 species of fish, reptiles and invertebrates. Three species of seals complete the collection.

Built in 1893, Le Chateau Frontenac is Quebec City's most famous backdrop. Both historically significant and thoroughly enchanting, the hotel is situated overlooking Old Quebec and the St. Lawrence River. The guest rooms and public areas are elegantly furnished and reflect and Old World ambiance.

The Parliament Building houses the National Assembly, in which 125 Québec parliamentarians sit. The building, in the Second Empire style, is imposing. Its four wings form a square roughly 100 m on each side.

Place-Royale is today one of the oldest districts on the continent. Its narrow streets and the architecture of its houses testify to four centuries of history. In summer, Place-Royale hosts a wide array of plays and variety shows.

The park Plains of Abraham was created in 1908. The Plains of Abraham are renowned as being one of the largest and most prestigious parks in the world where leisure, culture and history make one.
